Our Services

Individual Therapy

  • Here at Grounded Roots, I’ll meet you where you are. I’m experienced with treating depression, anxiety, burnout, job and relationship stress, acculturation difficulties, or simply help you learn more about yourself. Your goals are my goals.

  • For those stepping down from higher levels of care, I will work with you on a weekly or twice a week basis, in addition to coordinating treatment with your nutritionists, doctors, psychiatrists, or other providers on your team. If needed, I can also provide as needed family sessions to help support you in your recovery goals.

  • For those seeking less intensive therapeutic services, I can accommodate a weekly or biweekly treatment approach for those maintaining their recovery, or who simply want to improve their relationship with food or help develop and strengthen body positivity.

Clinical Supervision

  • Samantha is approved to provide clinical supervision for unlicensed clinicians seeking licensure in DC, Virginia and California. For all other states, check with your board. I am available in person for supervision within San Diego county, and virtually for those in the DMV area.

  • Samantha is approved to provide clinical supervision for unlicensed clinicians seeking licensure in DC, Virginia and California. Group supervision is limited to 6 people. Contact me to reserve your spot

  • These groups focus on peer consultation for clinicians working with clients with Eating Disorders, as well as overall body image issues or disordered eating patterns. Groups will help clinicians deepen their knowledge and practice of eating disorder care, diagnosing, and conceptualizing treatment from various modalities. The groups run on a biweekly basis and take place via Zoom. Groups will have no more than 6 participants at a time. $75 per 60-minute group session. Must commit to 6 sessions

Immigration Evaluations

  • Grounded Roots can provide psychological evaluations which can be used to show that deportation would cause extreme hardship to qualifying family members, such as U.S. citizen children and spouses. They can also be used to help support a deportation cancellation of removal order.

  • Political asylum is given to undocumented immigrants who are forced to flee their country due to persecution. Immigration evaluations can help asylum seekers show evidence of persecution in their home country.

  • This petition (Violence Against Women Act) allows spouses (both male and female) and children who have suffered domestic violence to obtain a green card. A mental health evaluation can help document the consequences of the abuse, such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other trauma-related issues.

  • U visas give undocumented immigrants who have been victims of a serious crime the right to live in the United States. T visas provide victims of human trafficking with the right to live and work in the U.S. Grounded Roots’ evaluations can help visa petitioners prove the mental and emotional consequences of the crimes they experienced.
